Physics Program at UH Hilo
The university offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. The physics program emphasizes training in both theoretical and experimental physics, mathematics and computer skills.
The initial two years of the program consist largely of general education courses that are part of a traditional liberal arts education, as well as basic physics and mathematics. The junior and senior years are largely devoted to advanced physics and math coursework, as well as a senior thesis project. See more detailed information about our physics course offerings.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy has instituted a guarantee to assure that students will find the courses they need to graduate with a Physics or Astronomy degree when they need them. This policy and guarantee are posted on the following pages.
