Physics and Astronomy Department Teaching Promise

In a small department, it is always difficult to assure that students will find the courses they need when they need them.   In an effort to give students some confidence that they can plan their programs and graduate with a Physics or Astronomy degree in the time which fits their goals, we are submitting a four-year teaching schedule.   The checked boxes represent a promise from the department that at least one section of each of those courses will be offered as indicated.   In some cases, we will offer additional sections, but there will be a minimum of one.   In addition to this 'Department Teaching Promise,' we will be offering many other enriched opportunities for students including our lower division courses (Astr 130, Astr 150, Phys 115) and our upper division courses (Phys 360, 431, Astr 460, 470) just as an example.   We will also be offering one-time opportunities such as our Seminar in Astrophysics and our Seminar in Nuclear Physics.

The four-year teaching schedule of classes is presented on the following page.

If you have questions about this schedule, prospective students can get more information about the Physics and Astronomy programs at UH Hilo by contacting Dr. Robert Fox.
